News & notes

While Troy High won't catch the leaders in the Suburban Council's Gray division in bowling this season, a strong 3rd place finish isn't anything to sneeze at.

The Flying Horses closed the regular season by running their winning streak to 9 matches in a row, blowing out Columbia, 20-12. Troy had 4 bowlers, led by Olivia DeCitise (695) with 600 series.

The only downside is that Troy now has to wait 12 days before the Suburban Council championships at Boulevard Bowl take place February 9. You'll recall that the league pushed back the championships a week to give teams a chance to make up dates postponed due to COVID.

518 Alumni watch: Speaking of Troy, Jenalyse Alarcon is the leading scorer for the College of Staten Island, averaging nearly 11 points a game, while averaging 9.2 rebounds a game. Unfortunately, CSI is 3-12.
