News & notes

This morning at the earliest, Kevin Huerter may be heading home to Clifton Park.

Huerter scored 12 points in a losing effort as the Atlanta Hawks were eliminated by Miami in the NBA Playoffs on Tuesday, 110-86. As we noted yesterday, the Heat's defense stifled both Huerter and Trae Young, forcing an early end to the Hawks' season.

Corruption in horse racing isn't limited to the track, folks, but we've known that for years, if you follow the movies.

LaSalle Institute's first women's varsity sports team is in track & field. That's the good news. The bad? The Lady Cadets were blown off the field by Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk on Tuesday to the tune of 117-18. OUCH!

In sharp contrast, the men's team defeated Ravena, 85-51.
