News & notes

Albany Academy captured the Section II women's golf championship over the weekend at Edison Country Club, defeating five Suburban Council schools-----Saratoga, Guilderland, Bethlehem, Shaker, & Shenendehowa----to claim the title. Kennedy Swedick won the individual competition, carding a 4 under par 68, with teammates Nicole Criscone, Samantha Von Rohr, & Jillian Rawson as the top three runners-up.

Just a hunch, but I've a feeling we'll see those young ladies on the LPGA tour in a few years.
