 Siena's women's basketball team welcomed back not only coach Jim Jabir, but also a handful of players who been out on Thursday due to illness or injury.


Unfortunately, Iona proved to be a rude guest, spoiling Jabir's return in beating Siena, 68-66. Ahniysha Jackson (Albany) was among the returning starters, and had 11 points. Valencia Fontanelle-Posson (Guilderland) added 6. The Lady Saints will be back at home on Thursday.

UAlbany men's basketball coach Dwayne Killings pleaded not guilty to assault charges in Kentucky, apparently via Zoom, this morning. Further information as it becomes available.

Sunday night's storm has wiped out today's slate of Section II sporting events. While some schools are still listing after school events as still on, don't be too surprised if that changes in the next hour or so.

Bearing this in mind, Troy High's bowling match vs. Averill Park has been postponed for the 2nd time this season, and has been rescheduled as the regular season finale for the two schools on February 1. The Suburban Council championships will be the following week at Boulevard Bowl.
