News & notes

Sinclair Broadcasting, which holds the local broadcast rights to almost half of the teams in Major League Baseball, including the Mets, is on the verge of losing business media partner Diamond Sports Group, which is facing bankruptcy.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred is looking into the possibility of MLB's TV arm possibly working with Sinclair to produce games if Diamond does go under, which means Met broadcasts on CW15 might have a different look, as early as this season. Stay tuned.

LaSalle Institute's hockey team went into Friday's Senior Night game vs. Albany Academy perhaps a little too confident, and looking past Academy toward this afternoon's regular season finale at Bethlehem. LaSalle had won the first half of the winter Battle of The Cadets last month on Academy's ice, so Academy returned the favor, picking up their first league win of the season, 4-2, playing spoiler as LaSalle was hoping to improve its playoff prospects.

Today, Academy continues its road trip at CBA, while LaSalle will try to get back to .500 in league play at Bethlehem.

Adirondack 4, Shenendehowa 2.
