The first full day of sectional play for the women didn't hold any surprises, as form held.
Class AA:
Shaker 66, Schenectady 28. An example of why league doormats, such as the Lady Patriots, shouldn't have been in the tournament. Shaker led, 40-9 (!!) at halftime, and 60-13 after 3 periods before Schenectady actually outscored the Bison, 15-6, in the 4th quarter. Too little, too late for an upset. Shaker moves on to play at Bethlehem on Thursday. The Eagles beat Shaker the first time around.
Guilderland 57, Ballston Spa 47. The Lady Dutch will travel to Albany on Thursday.
Class A:
Academy of Holy Names (Colonial Council) 48, Hudson Falls (Foothills Council) 38. Holy Names visits Catholic Central on Thursday.
Amsterdam 52, Mohonasen 35. The Rams will play Averill Park next.
Class B:
Albany Academy 74, Cohoes 28.
Schylerville (Foothills Council) 47, Mechanicville (Wasaren League) 42. The Black Horses visit Albany Academy next.
