He may not be playing a big role on offense, but Albany Academy graduate and Amsterdam native Andre Jackson, Jr. is a game away from bringing a NCAA title to the 518.
Jackson and the Connecticut Huskies dispatched Miami, 72-59, on Saturday, and will advance to play San Diego State, which upset Florida Atlantic in Saturday's opener.
Jackson had 6 points for UConn, which is seeking its 5th national title on the men's side, compared to thei all-universe women's squad, which was eliminated early.
Monday's game figures to start just after 9 pm, airing on CBS & TBS.

The Albany Patroons saw their 9 game winning streak end at the hands of Academie Alma at the Washington Avenue Armory on Saturday, 114-103. It was the 1st win of the season for the Canadian squad in TBL play, and their first win against the Patroons this season in 4 tries.

If the Albany Firewolves haven't hit rock bottom yet, they soon will.
Albany lost again on Saturday, 12-11, to Panther City. I have no clue where that is.
========================================
Siena sophomore Javian McCollum has entered the transfer portal, but he isn't ruling out returning to Siena next season.
The Florida native, according to the Albany Times-Union, may be making a career move based on plans for a NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deal that the school was negotiating with a local firm.
All we can say for now is, stay tuned.
