The only state regional game of Section II interest is just getting underway as we write. Apparently, the Garden City-Niskayuna lacrosse match at UAlbany was delayed for nearly two hours due to weather, so we'll have the result tomorrow.
The Silver Warriors are Section II's last hope for a lacrosse championship, as we'll see as we look at the results of games already in the books.
Baseball:
Class AA: Commack 9, Shenendehowa 0. This game was also delayed by rain, and that may have taken Shen right out of their comfort zone.
Class A: Columbia 3, West Babylon 0. The Blue Devils will play Walter Panas for the title tomorrow at 1 pm at Binghamton University.
Class C: Chatham 7, Batavia-Notre Dame 4. The Panthers will play Tuckahoe tomorrow.
Women's lacrosse:
Class B: Victor 18, Bethlehem 5.
Softball:
Class AA: Shenendehowa 3, North Rockland 2 (8 innings). Despite their seniors remaining behind for tomorrow's senior prom, the Plainswomen persevered and advanced to face Clarence tomorrow at 11 am.
Class A: Troy 8, Webster Thomas 4. Down 1-0 in the 6th, Troy erupted for 8 runs with 2 out, helped along by 4 Webster Thomas errors. Olivia DeCitise only struck out 6 and walked 1 while driving in 3 runs herself with a homer in that 8 run 6th. Troy now faces Maine-Endwell tomorrow.
Class B: Ichabod Crane 4, Windsor 0. The Lady Riders advance to face Marlboro in the finals.
Class C: SS Seward 1, Chatham 0.
Class D: Deposit-Hancock 4, Salem 1.
