News & notes

It's now or never for the Tri-City Valleycats.

The 'Cats snapped a six game losing streak, needing 10 innings to beat Trois Rivieres, 16-14, on Saturday in a game that took nearly 4 hours to play. Meanwhile, Sussex County has won six in a row, and if the 'Cats lose today, coupled with a Sussex County win, the Miners make the playoffs, and the 'Cats go home. First pitch in Canada is 1 pm.

Welp, UAlbany won't go undefeated this season in football.

The Great Danes stopped short of an upset of Marshall Saturday night, as the Thundering Herd came back from behind to hold off the Danes, 21-17. Albany drops to 1-1, and will be at Hawaii next week.
