News & notes

20 years ago, UAlbany entered the Colonial Athletic Alliance for football only, since America East doesn't have football.

This afternoon, the Great  Danes claimed a share of the league title with an emphatic, dominant 41-0 shutout of Monmouth on Senior Day at Casey Stadium.

Reese Poffenbarger threw four touchdown passes, two of them to Julian Hicks, who caught a 3rd TD on a halfback option in the 1st quarter. Dylan Kelly became the all time single season tackler for the Danes (9-3, 7-1 CAA). Albany dominated on both sides of the ball, punching their ticket to the postseason. Where they'll play next will be announced tomorrow.
