News & notes

Averill Park High will not be streaming their sports events on YouTube anymore.

Instead, the school has switched to Hudl, and, to be honest, I don't think they'll be the only ones, as other Section II schools get in on the action.

The Hudl stream will get a workout this week, beginning with the men's Tip-Off tournament in basketball, which started last night, with Averill Park hosting Mohonasen (Colonial Council) and a pair of Foothills Council schools, Queensbury & South Glens Falls, the latter of which had sent their women's teams to AP for the Tip-Off tournament the last two years, finishing last & 2nd, respectively.

Tonight, Averill Park will play South Glens Falls in the title game, while Mohonasen & Queensbury meet in the 3rd place game. The doubleheader starts at 4:30 pm.

Last night's results:

South Glens Falls 45, Mohonasen 44. Brady Smith led the Bulldogs with 14 points.

Averill Park 57, Queensbury 54 (OT). Ethan Nardacci had 19 points, and Jacob Phelps added 13 to help AP rally after the Spartans had taken a 4th quarter lead.
