News & notes

Siena's women's basketball team played its final game of 2023 Thursday in Cincinnati, and ended up on the short end of a 71-51 loss to the Lady Bearcats. Siena was held to just 8 points in the 3rd quarter, and that was the difference in the game. Theresa Seppala led Siena with 11 points.

Ichabod Crane plays most of its sports in the Colonial Council. However, because it appears there is no men's volleyball in that league, the Riders' men's volleyball team plays in the Patroon Conference, perhaps foreshadowing a future shift down the road.

Entering the holiday break, the Riders are undefeated, after shutting out Chatham in a city rivalry match on Wednesday, then doing the same to Taconic Hills on Thursday.

A change to tonight's basketball schedule not reported in the papers:

The men's game between Schenectady and Troy has been moved from the Pat Riley Center to Clem Zotto Memorial Gym, where the two teams are scheduled to play in 3 weeks. No reason given for the late switch. Aktivate (formerly Schedule Galaxy) has adjusted each team's schedules accordingly. As of right now, the January 12 rematch is still set for Zotto Gym.
