News & notes

 The city of Albany has already enacted traffic detours, effective through April 2, due to the NCAA women's tournament in town through Monday. Certain CDTA lines, including the blue BusPlus buses, will be detoured during this period.

If you were unable to acquire tickets for the four days, don't worry. The games will air on ESPN today, Sunday, & Monday, and on WTEN tomorrow.

Wins have been hard to come by for Siena baseball this season, but they opened their weekend series with Quinnipiac with a 15-10 win on Thursday.


Tyler Figueroa (Colonie) was 3-5 with an RBI & 2 runs scored to lead the charge. Danny Barbero (Colonie) was 2-5 with 2 RBI & 2 runs scored.

The series resumes with a doubleheader today at 12 noon.

George Washington, coming off a sweep of Canisius last weekend, dropped an 8-7 decision to Towson on Wednesday. Brett Young (Albany Academy/Siena/VCU) went 2-2 with 4 walks and an RBI. The Revolutionaries will open a series today with St. Bonaventure, beginning at 3 pm.
