He only spent two seasons in the 518, but Jared Verse will still carry some UAlbany with him into the NFL.
Verse, who transferred to Florida, was drafted in Thursday's 1st round of the NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Because of his connections to the Great Danes, he merited headlines on newspaper & TV websites Thursday night.
Now, we'll see if he sticks with the Rams.
In other UAlbany news, men's lacrosse coach Scott Marr is looking for the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association to investigate reports of racists taunts hurled at Albany players in a game against Merrimack on April 21. According to media reports, the slurs were aimed at Native American players on Albany.
Stay tuned.
