A silent storm (South West Kansas @ Albany, 5/19)

The South West Kansas Storm (yes, the spelling is correct) shares their color scheme with Kansas State University. And, that's about it.

The Storm entered Sunday's matinee at MVP Arena against the Albany Firebirds with a 1-2 record. Albany came in 3-0, as last week's cancelled game vs. Minnesota was declared a forfeit in favor of Albany.

A kick return tackled in the end zone equals just 1 point, not 2 points for a safety, in arena football. The Storm took that early 1-0 lead, but it was all Albany after that.

The Firebirds streamed the game on their YouTube channel, with WOFX's Tom Goslowski joined by former Record reporter Andrew Santillo.

Albany will be right back at it on Friday vs. West Texas, and, as minor league sports goes, they'll be the only game in town, with the Patroons & Valleycats on the road on Friday.
