News & notes

The Adirondack Thunder evened the ECHL Eastern Conference finals Saturday night, shutting down the Florida EverBlades, 2-0. The scene shifts to Florida for games 3 & 4 this week.

Due to an error on their website, the Albany Patroons led their fans to think they were playing Virginia Valley last night at the Armory. In reality, they demolished Connecticut, 144-16. 8 Patroons finished in double figures, including Shadell Millinghaus (Troy/Schenectady), who had 27 points. Ja'Quaye James led Albany with 36 points. The Pats will be on the road this week, returning to the Armory for the home finale vs. Frederick (Md.) one week from today at 3 pm.

Arlo Marynczak (Bethlehem/Siena) got the start in what amounted to a bullpen game for the Tri-City Valleycats at Bruno Stadium on Saturday. Marynczak went 2 innings, and left with the game tied a 0-0. However, Washington won the game, 2-1, scoring late to thwart the 'Cats. Tri-City will try to salvage the final game of the series today at 5.

The Albany FireWolves were swept by the Buffalo Bandits, as the Bandits claimed the NLL title, 13-11, on Saturday night. Albany finished 14-7, with plenty of reason to contend for next year.
