News & notes

 Quick reminder that the Albany FireWolves have this weekend off before hosting Buffalo in game 1 of the National Lacrosse League championship series on May 17 at MVP Arena.
===========================================
The Tri-City Valleycats got off to a quick start Friday, defeating the Windy City Thunderbolts, 11-7. Jaxon Hallmark ran wild with 4 stolen bases to lead the charge.

The teams continue their series tonight at 7, and finish with a 2 pm matinee on Sunday.
============================================
Troy High was supposed to close the regular season in softball Friday at Columbia, but the game was postponed due to wet grounds on the Columbia campus in East Greenbush. They're playing as I write. Troy is assured of a sectional berth with an 8-10 overall record. Troy baseball closes the regular season, and, likely, their season as a whole, this afternoon vs. Schalmont at 12 noon.

Troy flag football has qualified for sectionals after beating Saratoga on Thursday. Troy finishes the regular season 6-5, stopping a 2 game losing streak with the 56-20 win over the Blue Streaks.

The tennis sectional vs. Queensbury was pushed back to today as well, with the meet to start at 11 am.

Troy's men's lacrosse team begins a stretch of 3 games in 4 days today at Tamarac-Hoosick Falls at 1 pm, before returning home for Senior Night Monday vs. Schenectady-Mohonasen, and finishing at Columbia on Tuesday.
