News & notes

With the NFL regular season 8 days away, a pair of familiar names have landed on NFL practice squads.

Julian Hicks (UAlbany) is currently on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad, which does not mean he'll eventually be activated to play in a game. Same goes for Cole Burgess (Greenwich/Cortland), who likewise is with Cincinnati. Burgess was waived at the end of training camp, but the coaches thought enough of him to bring him back as a practice squad player.

We'll see if either sees the field during the regular season.
