Belated congratulations to Troy High's Angelina MacLeod, who qualified for state competition in women's swimming & diving, while the Troy/Columbia/Averill Park squad finished 6th in team competition during the Section II championships at Shenendehowa on Friday.
State competition starts this weekend.
Suffice to say, the men's team, unified with CBA, has a tough act to follow when they start their season next month.

WOFX is looking for a new afternoon drive team.
Jeff Levack & Tom Gozlowski were among the talents laid off by corporate parent iHeart Media over the weekend. Luckily, both will be sticking around, as Levack also has a front office gig with the Albany Firebirds, and Gozlowski was the color analyst for the team last season, and likely will return in 2025 as well.

Bethlehem grad Clare Hutton was named to the National Women's Soccer League's rookie team on Monday. Hutton and the Kansas City Current will play Orlando in the NWSL semi-finals on Sunday. The game will be on ESPN or ABC.

In the NFL's eyes, Jared Verse is a rookie out of Florida State, but Verse had spent time at UAlbany before moving south.
Monday, in a LA Rams loss to Miami, Verse made his presence felt in the first half with a sack, a fumble recovery, and a few more tackles.
I"m willing to guess that Verse's rookie cards will still move for a pretty good price around here, given his previous stint with the Great Danes. Just sayin'.
