Troy High sports review, through January 10

With the first full week of 2025 behind us, Troy High sports is gaining momentum.

Men's swimming & diving (united with CBA & Columbia):

Current record: 5-0.

Ballston Spa became the latest victim on January 7, as The Flying Devil Brothers claimed an 84-79 decision.

Next: Guilderland visits on Tuesday.

Bowling:

Current record: 8-5 (8-4 Colonial Council).

The extra wins reflect forfeits over Catholic Central, which is not fielding a men's team this year, and the 2nd forfeit takes effect on Monday. Troy was swept by Lansingburgh on Thursday after the Horses, in turn, swept Schalmont & LaSalle earlier in the week.

Next: Troy hits the road at Mohonasen on Tuesday, then returns home to entertain Cohoes on Thursday.

Men's basketball:

Current record: 6-2 (3-1 Colonial Council).

After a narrow loss to LaSalle on Tuesday, Jamil Hood's club routed Cohoes on Thursday. This one was over in the 3rd quarter.

Next:

Lansingburgh comes in for its first trip to Zotto Gym since the 2019 Holiday Classic, which they won, but this is a different Knights team. Then, it's a road trip to Mohonasen.

Women's basketball:

Current record: 5-5 (1-4 Colonial Council):

Will Harris' club collected its first win in the Colonial by clipping Cohoes on Friday after a tough loss to LaSalle.

Next: The ladies go across town to Lansingburgh Tuesday, and return home to play Mohonasen on Friday.
