News & notes

An era in college hockey ended Saturday night at Union College.

In the final game at Messa (formerly Achilles) Rink, the Garnet Chargers were eliminated from the ECAC playoffs in a 7-2 loss to Dartmouth. The Big Green take the series, 2-0.

Next season, Union's men's & women's hockey teams, and the CDHSHL's Hawks, will move to Mohawk Harbor Center, as Messa Rink is closing after 50 seasons (actually 49, since there was no hockey in 2020-1).

We now know Albany Academy's women's basketball team will "host" Wantagh Friday at HVCC after Wantagh defeated Mt. Sinai late Saturday night. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
