News & notes

Former Queensbury football coach John Irion has been named the new head coach for Bolton/Warrensburg/Lake George as the Wolverines begin to prepare for a new season after a sexual abuse scandal torpedoed their 2024 campaign. The three districts mutually agreed not to retain Mike Perrone and his staff after last year's season was cut short at 8-0.

Under Irion, Queensbury won a state title in 2013. In recent years, Irion has been an assistant coach at South Glens Falls, and has a career head coaching record of 172-102-1.
