 Colonie has named offensive coordinator Jon LaPoint as their new varsity football head coach, succeeding Greg Bearup, after the Wolfpack went 5-5 last season, the most wins in a season in 11 years. LaPoint is a Colonie grad himself, class of 2010.

UAlbany survived a late rally from Siena to advance in the NCAA men's lacrosse tournament, 11-9, Wednesday at Casey Stadium. Next up for the Great Danes will be Cornell on Sunday. Game time is 7:30 pm, and it will air on ESPNU (Spectrum channel 370).
