Former Fonda-Fultonville QB Keegan Croucher, now at Cheshire Academy, has been getting Division 1 offers, but on Wednesday, he got an actual scholarship offer from no less than North Carolina's Bill Belichick.
This is why a lot of kids leave Section II for the prep school circuit, to enhance their chances of getting a scholarship, much less the attention of college scouts. Would Croucher have gotten this if he stayed at Fonda? No one really knows.

The Tri-City Valleycats will spend the weekend in Quebec, at least through Saturday night.
Oscar Campos saw to that as he sent the fans home happy Wednesday, slamming a walk-off homer in the 9th to give the 'Cats a 7-6 win over the Capitales to even the series at a game each. Game 3 is Friday at Quebec.

You might have noticed recently that veteran high school reporter Kyle Adams has changed employers again, and has completed the 518 hat trick, signing on with the Albany Times-Union after 2 seasons at the Daily Gazette, and, before that, The Saratogian/Record, aka El Cheapo Media. The Gazette can't seem to hang on to anybody lately.......
