News & notes

UAlbany linebacker Cam Stodghill (LaSalle) has transferred to Michigan State for the 2026 season, and has already started classes in East Lansing. Stodghill spent 3 seasons with the Great Danes, and felt he needed a change of scenery after two straight losing seasons.

Luckily for Stodghill and for Big 10 fans in the 518, Spectrum Cable has taken the Big 10 Network, a unit of Fox Sports, off its premium tier, and it's now available for all digital subscribers. The change took effect January 1. The timing is perfect, considering college baseball will be getting underway next month.

Siena snapped its losing streak Sunday in beating Mount St. Mary's , 67-50. Justice Shoats led Siena with 18 points. The Saints return home Wednesday to play Sacred Heart (WNYA, WJMZ, 7 pm).
