News & notes

The women of LaSalle might've got caught looking ahead to a game vs. Albany Academy, coming up on Friday, such that Tuesday's game at McCormick Hall vs. the Academy of Holy Names, was a trap game after a sort. The Panthers have recovered after a slow start this season, and, in their 2nd appearance in as many seasons on WNYA, made the most of the opportunity presented to them in beating the Lady Cadets, 62-48.

1st year LaSalle coach David Crudo now has to get his team to regroup, with the Bears coming up on Friday.

Interestingly, former Shenendehowa star Meghan Huerter is in her first year of coaching as well, as she directs the LaSalle JV's. Huerter had graduated from UAlbany last spring.

The game of the week shifts to Thursday next week for another Wasaren League game. I think they're moving the high school game broadcasts around due to ratings, but it'd help if they promote the games more than they have. Just sayin'.

Meghan's sister, Jillian, quietly entered the transfer portal after last season, leaving Rutgers for Fairfield. The Lady Stags will be in town to play Siena on February 21.
