We're hearing that Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver (Saratoga/Notre Dame) has popped up on the list of candidates to coach the Buffalo Bills. Failing that, Weaver could head to the Meadowlands and join John Harbaugh's staff with the Giants. Weaver will eventually land a head coaching job somewhere.
We have a bone to pick with the folks at High School Sports Stats as it relates to Troy High's men's basketball team.
For starters, no one bothered to notify the site of a home non-league game vs. Red Hook (which Troy lost) on January 14. Then, the jabronies in charge got the result of Friday's win over Ichabod Crane backwards, thinking the Riders won the game, when they clearly did not.
Mind you, it ain't just the site we have a problem with.
The Albany Times-Union, in doing their weekly high school rankings in today's edition, claims Troy's record is 8-4, as they, too, mistakenly assumed Troy lost on Friday. What were they watching? Some AI video game? Sheeeesh!!! The record is 9-3. Get it right!
Sure, we're late to the party, but we're hearing Mohonasen is looking for a new wrestling coach after Terry Lawson was fired earlier this month after he allegedly slapped a 14 year old female student. 10 months after Jim Zullo was let go at Northville for going after one his star players following a playoff loss, Lawson seems to have forgotten the lesson. Lawson is facing assault charges as a result of the incident.
Seems the student was trying to get Lawson's attention, tapping him on the chin. The shoulder would've been more appropriate, I'd think.
