Siena University has wasted little time hiring a successor to men's lacrosse coach Liam Gleason, who passed away last month. Assistant coach Tim Cox, a Schenectady native, and who had joined the program with Gleason in 2018, has been promoted by the school.
The 2026 season likely will be dedicated in Gleason's memory.
Less than 2 months after the races took place, the Troy Turkey Trot committee donated $40,000 each to Unity House, the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY, and Joseph's House & Shelter, after more than 7500 runners competed on Thanksgiving Day.
The goal for the 2026 race? What else? Top it.
A year ago, Stephen Mulinio returned to Troy High with LaSalle, and the Cadets got the better of the Flying Horses that night.
Last night, Kate Gilooly, now a senior at LaSalle, had her "homecoming", if you will, spoiled by the Lady Horses, as Will Harris' club collected a receipt from last season, 64-51. Birthday girl Kiana Tiernan led the way for Troy with a double-double (23 points, 19 rebounds), while Amaya Harris added 17 points & 12 boards. LaSalle stats were not submitted as of press time.
Across town at McCormick Hall, Troy remained undefeated in collecting a receipt of their own, 59-54. No stats have been reported as of press time.
