The Glens Falls Post-Star reports that members of the New York Bowling Proprieters Association are getting antsy about reopening. One North Country house already is set to abide by social distancing guidelines, with plexiglas barriers in place at the front desk, for example, but they're still waiting for the green light from Governor Cuomo.

Troy's Uncle Sam Lanes houses an OTB kiosk, which is the only reason it's open now, but when the kiosk closes for the day, so does the building. We think.

To follow up on a report from Thursday, the Times-Union Center has agreed in principle with the National Arena League to host an expansion franchise, perhaps as early as 2021. The owners of the former Arena Football League franchise, the Orlando Predators, are interested in placing a team in Albany.

Now, all they need is to close the deal with Predator management and build a roster. Tommy Grady, quarterback for the 2019 ArenaBowl champion Albany Empire, is interested in returning to the TUC to be the QB for the new team, and could have coach Rob Keefe with him. Stay tuned.

After today, two weeks remain in the ICBL season, but the Albany Athletics could very well wrap up the league title as early as next week after sweeping the Amsterdam Mohawks on Thursday night.

Former Tri-City Valleycat Chris Salamida was in the middle of it in both games for the Athletics. Salamida pitched a complete game shutout in game one, 6-0, then slammed a 3 run homer to put Albany up early in the second game, only to be called on in relief to close a 7-6 win as Amsterdam made a late rally.

Standings heading into today's action:

Albany Athletics: 16-2-2.
Albany Dutch: 10-8-2.
Amsterdam: 6-11.
Glens Falls: 1-15.
