Caged tigers (Tamarac @ Troy, women's volleyball, 4/20/21)

24 hours ago, Tamarac shut out Berlin-New Lebanon. Tonight, the Bengals step up in class, and move a few clicks down the road to Troy High to face a hot Flying Horses team that has won three matches in a row.

The folks in charge of scheduling at Troy flubbed the time of the match. The varsity contest was assumed to be at 6:15 pm, but with the JV match set for 5:00, chances were that the varsity match wouldn't start on time. Indeed, the YouTube feed didn't start until 6:45, meaning the match would start at around 6:50.  Mr. Magoo must've been minding the clocks today.

Digression over. On one Tamarac volley in the first set, the ball got caught briefly in the rafters, and then fell in no woman's land between Bengal players. It was going to be that kind of night for the visitors. Troy runs its winning streak to 4 matches in a row, earning their 2nd shutout in 4 days.

We have to correct ourselves. The match vs. Saratoga on Friday is not on the road, but is the actual home finale for the scorching hot Flying Horses (5-9, 3-9 Suburban Council), who have achieved respectability in the last week.
