Tuesday was supposed to be the final day of the season for Section II spring sports. However, wet grounds left over from Monday's storms caused a couple of games to be pushed back to today.
On the other hand, everything else went as planned.
We'll start with Class A baseball.
A shade more than three weeks after losing to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in walk-off fashion, Troy High returned to the scene of the crime, bent on not only revenge, but also their first Section II baseball title since entering the Suburban Council in the 2015-16 season.
The Spartans drew first blood with a homer by Kyle DeCresce, giving Burnt Hills a 1-0 lead. However, Troy lefty Mike Kennedy slammed the door shut, holding the Spartans to two more hits the rest of the way. Christian Brown tied the game with a homer of his own, and Nick DiGiorgio drove in the game winner in the 7th. Troy adds a Class A baseball title to the football crown they won just weeks earlier, 2-1.
