News & notes

We don't have all the results from day one of the Amsterdam College Showcase, for a number of reasons, chief of which is that certain schools didn't submit the results of their games in time for today's deadlines.

There were some other non-league games on the docket, as well, but, again, not all the scores are available as of press time. Bear with us.

Amsterdam College Showcase:

Penfield 57, Albany 55.
Saugerties 58, Troy 35. The Flying Horses have now dropped five in a row, and likely six after today's game vs. Wallkill.

Wallkill 73, Duanesburg 60. Duanesburg suffers its first loss of the season.
Shaker 50, Baldwinsville 46.
Bethlehem 69, Hanover (NH) 63. Maren Louridas led all scorers with a season high 30 points. Caroline Davis added 16 for the undefeated Lady Eagles.

Fairport 62, Saratoga 39. The Blue Streaks had to play without senior star Natasha Chudy, who reportedly was ill.

Other action:

Whitehall split a men's & women's doubleheader with Crown Point. The Lady Railroaders won in blowout fashion, 68-11, but Crown Point salvaged the men's game, 61-54.

Notre Dame-Utica 56, Voorheesville 40.

Men's non-league:

Bishop Maginn 82, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 79.
CBA 72, LaSalle 42. Football hero David Clement led all scorers with 22 points for CBA.

In the Mohawks hockey tournament at Union College, the host Mohawks dropped a 4-3 decision to Albany Academy. The Tupper Lake-LaSalle game was not reported.

Today, it'll be Academy vs. Tupper Lake, and LaSalle vs. the Mohawks.
