News & notes

It was a tale of two games----literally----for UAlbany on Monday.

With both basketball teams on the road, the Great Danes had a case of feast or famine.

Feast: The women defeated Binghamton, 52-41. Grace Heeps (Columbia) was held scoreless for the 3rd straight game. Lilly Phillips (Cambridge) had 4 points in support of leading scorer Kayla Cooper, who had 15.

Famine: The men fell to long time nemesis Vermont, 73-61. Matt Cerutti had 22 points to lead Albany, which returns to SEFCU Arena tomorrow to host UMBC.

In other Albany news, they won't have Stony Brook hassling them in the America East anymore after this season. The Seawolves are leaving the conference for another league, which won't actually end the in-state rivalry, but it will take some of the shine off. Stay tuned.
