News & notes

UAlbany's men's basketball team is one & done in the America East tournament.

The Great Danes endured cold streaks at the wrong times on Sunday, and were eliminated by Hartford, 61-49. Matt Cerutti led Albany with 13 points, and Jamel Horton added 12.

For coach Dwayne Killings, it's wait 'til next year.

With their backs against the proverbial wall, down 3-1 going into the 3rd period, RPI rang up 4 goals, including an empty net goal on a power play, and defeated Dartmouth, 5-3, to advance to the ECAC quarter-finals.

Next stop for the Engineers is Harvard, which will host the quarter-final series starting on Friday. RPI's power play went 4 for 5 on the day, and the only other goal came on a penalty kill.

The Albany Patroons are 2-0 after beating Atlantic City, 86-81, on Sunday afternoon. Will Brown's club returns to the Armory on Friday to begin a home & home series with Lehigh Valley.
