Section 2 softball pairings

 The fields are now set for this year's Section 2 softball tournaments, which begin tomorrow. The baseball sectionals will be announced on Tuesday as well.

Class AA:

Tuesday:

#10 Niskayuna @ #7 Saratoga. Winner will play #2 Bethlehem on Thursday.

#9 Albany @ #8 Shaker. Winner will play #1 Shenendehowa on Thursday.

Also Thursday:

#5 Colonie @ #4 Ballston Spa.

#6 Guilderland @ #3 Columbia.

Semi-finals are May 24, and the finals on May 26, both at Luther Forest Complex in Malta.

Class A:

#8 Scotia-Glenville @ #1 Queensbury.

#7 Mohonasen @ #2 Troy. The Mighty Warriors will look to avenge an earlier loss, and try to stop the runaway train in its tracks. Troy has won 14 in a row.

#6 Hudson Falls @ #3 Averill Park.

#5 South Glens Falls @ #4 Burnt Hills.

Semi-finals are May 24 at Schalmont, with the finals at Luther Forest on May 26.

#9 Catholic Central @ #8 Hudson. Winner will play #1 Ichabod Crane on Thursday.

#19 Fort Edward-Hartford @ #14 Mayfield. Winner will play #3 Greenwich.

#22 Waterford @ #11 Galway. Winner will play #6 Warrensburg.

#18 Canajoharie @ #15 Schoharie. Winner will play #2 Whitehall.

The quarter-finals are set for Thursday, with the highest remaining seeds hosting. The semi-finals are May 24, and the finals on May 26, both at Moreau Recreational Center.

Finals at Moreau Recreational, May 26.

If any or all of today's games are rained out, the schedule will move up a day. Class D is safe since there's only 4 teams that made the tournament.
