Could fatigue be setting in on the Albany Patroons?

The Pats became TBL Eastern Conference champions Friday night, completing a 2-game sweep of the Huntsville Hurricanes, 110-108, but it was not easy.

Huntsville actually led at halftime, and led by as much as 14 in the 4th quarter before the Patroons got off the deck and rallied to win the game. AJ Mosby led 6 Pats in double figures with 23 points.

Next up? A regional final against the winner of the Toldeo-Kokomo series. If Toledo advances, all three games will be at the Washington Avenue Armory once again, starting on Thursday. If Kokomo advances, they'll host game 1, and then the series shifts back to Albany on Friday.

Less than 24 hours after beating the Chicago Cubs on Thursday, the San Diego Padres placed ex-Valleycat Joe Musgrove on the COVID IL Hmmmmm.

The struggling Tri-City Valleycats were undone by a former teammate on Friday.

Chris Kwitzer, one of the team's stars last year, now plays for the NY Boulders, and burned his former club with 2 homers Friday, as the Boulders blew out the 'Cats, 11-2. Tri-City has now lost 8 of their last 10, falling under .500 at 14-15, as the teams meet again tonight.

Rotterdam native Liz Kuhlkin (Schalmont) is in 62nd place in the US Women's Open bowling tournament headed into day 3 of qualifying today in Glens Falls. The top 30 advance to the next round. Kingpin Lanes in Glens Falls is hoping to land a PWBA tour stop as early as next year.

That would be nice, but I would argue on behalf of Uncle Sam Lanes here in town. Seeing as how the PBA has changed its format for television in recent years, setting up temporary lanes at, say for example, Albany's Capital Center or MVP Arena would be a bigger draw.

Stay tuned.
