 The Albany Patroons will be shuffling off to Kokomo.

The Patroons will play game 1 of their series at Kokomo against the Bobcats either Wednesday or Thursday, with game 2, and, if needed, game 3, at the Washington Avenue Armory. Kokomo eliminated Toledo in two straight to advance.

Update, 1:11 pm: Game 1 is in Kokomo on Thursday. If a 3rd game is needed, it'll be next Monday, June 27, at the Armory.

Rotterdam native Liz Kuhlkin (Schalmont) was eliminated from the PWBA US Open on Saturday, finishing in 61st place, despite bowling her best games of the tournament. Cherie Tan of Singapore was the tournament leader after four rounds, but fell to 4th place after match play on Sunday.

The finals air on CBS Sports Network tomorrow.

Ian Anderson (Shenendehowa) pitched 6 2/3 innings on Sunday, combining with three Atlanta relievers to shut out the Chicago Cubs, 6-0. Anderson struck out six, walked two, and scattered three hits.

Jeff Hoffman (Shaker) pitched an inning in relief for Cincinnati in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Milwaukee. Hoffman didn't give up any runs or hits, but walked two.

The Albany Empire has now lost three in a row, as Carolina completed a season sweep with a walk-off field goal on the final play Saturday night, earning a 59-56 win. Albany tumbles to 4-4, a half game behind the 2nd place Columbus Lions, who will be at MVP Arena on Saturday.

The Albany Dutchmen have played three more games than the Amsterdam Mohawks in the Eastern Division of the Perfect Game league, which places them in second place, about 2 1/2 games behind the Mohawks, after beating Glens Falls, 11-1, on Sunday. Chance Checca (Ballston Spa/Herkimer Community College) went 2-2 with 2 walks and 5 RBI to lead the Dutchmen. The game was called after 6 innings, likely by mercy rule.

The Tri-City Valleycats need some help getting back on the winning track.

Pete Incaviglia's club was swept by the NY Boulders over the weekend, losing Sunday's finale, 15-12. 


Tri-City has now lost 9 of their last 11, as the Boulders passed them in the Eastern Division standings, moving to 4th place, while the 'Cats, at 15-16, now are in 5th, roughly 7 games behind first place Ottawa. Trois-Rivieres returns Tuesday, and then, the Empire State Greys will be in town on Friday.
