News & notes

 Another day, another coach leaves.

Except that in this case, Union football coach Jeff Behrman is leaving town now, returning to his home state of Ohio to take the head coaching job at his alma mater, John Carroll, which, like Union, is a Division III school in football. Behrman was a quarterback at John Carroll in the 90's, and, in 10 years at Union (9 seasons due to COVID in 2020), he was 42-20, his final game a loss to RPI in the Battle For The Dutchmen's Shoes in November.

Behrman begins his new job in 2 weeks. Best wishes to him as he begins the next phase of his career.

Frontier League MVP Brantley Bell is saying good-bye, as well.

The Tri-City Valleycats sold Bell's contract to San Diego, which means he'll be at the Padres' camp in Arizona come February..

Said camp is in Peoria, Arizona, close to Bell's hometown of Phoenix. Bell believes the Padres will try to place him with a Class AA team in the minors.
