UAlbany snapped a 9 game losing streak Wednesday night in beating UMBC, 81-74. The Great Danes placed 5 players in double figutes, led by Jonathan Beagle & Gerald Drumgoole, Jr. with 16 points each. Marcus Jackson (Albany Academy) chipped in 6 points.

After a road trip to Maine on Saturday, the Danes will have Senior Night at HVCC on February 25, which does explain why the Class AA high school sectionals were bumped to the 26th, and the Class A sectional quarter-finals were moved to Siena's UHY Arena, also on the 26th.

Meanwhile, the women keep rolling along, as they also beat UMBC, 74-67. Helene Haegerstrand led the Lady Danes with 25 points. Grace Heeps added 6, and Abby Ray had 3 points. Lilly Phillips remains out with a leg injury. The Lady Danes will have Senior Night this Saturday at HVCC vs. Maine.
