After it'd been teased that Antonio Brown would choose his father, "Touchdown" Eddie Brown, to take over the Albany Empire, comes word that Brown has decided against that, and, in order to save face with the fan base, re-hired coach Tom Menas, who will be at the helm Saturday vs. West Texas. I'm guessing Eddie Brown turned down the offer, and scolded his diva son about the mistakes he's already made. As a businessman, Antonio is a neophyte who got in over his head rather quickly.
Now, all that's left is to bring back the players who left. Damon Ware is returning as offensive coordinator, a condition in the return of Menas.

Menas is not the only coach who is making a comeback.
Brian Beaury retired as coach of the College of St. Rose's men's basketball team, with assistant Mike Perno inheriting the head coach's job. However, after a 9-20 campaign, Perno is out after 5 seasons, and Beaury returns for the 2023-24 season, with a goal of bringing the Golden Knights back to prominence in the Northeast 10 Conference.

Two Suburban Council baseball games were relocated on Tuesday due to wet grounds.
Shenendehowa defeated Troy, 2-0, with the game at Troy instead of Clifton Park. The Flying Horses (3-7) host Columbia today.
Guilderland similarly shut out Averill Park, 3-0, in Averill Park, giving coach Doug LaValley win #253.
The difference? Troy & Averill Park have turf fields. Shen & Guilderland have grass. Today, Guilderland visits Shaker, and Averill Park is at Bethlehem.

More Troy High: The women's flag football team, now 3-2 after blowing out Plattsburgh on Monday, will travel to Plattsburgh May 8 for the rematch. That game was added to the schedule so that the Lady Horses would have a game on what amounts to standard rest. The season ending road trip starts in Plattsburgh, followed by games at Rhinebeck on May 12, Saugerties on May 13, and at a site TBA on May 20 to close the season, unless that was when they were supposed to go to Plattsburgh, and it was rescheduled.
Troy lacrosse was blown off the field by Guilderland, 14-1, extending the laxmen's losing streak to 5 games. Drew Ryan had the lone goal for Troy

Former Troy High star David Judge has found a home at Lynn College in Florida. Despite the fact that Lynn has a losing record (16-24-1), Judge is hitting .377, tops on the team, and has 9 homers and 40 RBI, the latter also leading the team.
