News & notes

To follow-up on a note from yesterday, the Tri-City Valleycats announced Thursday that Pete Incaviglia will not return in 2024 as the team's manager. Tri-City fell short of the Frontier League playoffs in each of his three seasons.

GM Matt Callahan told the Albany Times-Union that he had spoken with Incaviglia by phone on Monday, during which a mutual agreement was made to end Incaviglia's tour of duty in Troy. The Texas resident could be in another dugout next year, with the American Association's Clebourne Railroaders, based in Dallas, as a possibility.

We have to assume that Tom Incaviglia, Pete's nephew & bench coach, will go where Uncle Pete goes. Stay tuned.

On Thursday, Jones revealed where this year's Super Bowls will be played. Super Bowl weekend this year is Veteran's Day weekend (November 10-11), when schools will be closed the day before the holiday, and one of two holiday weekends in November.

11 am: Class D final.
3 pm: Class C final.
7 pm; Class AA final (Friday Night Matchup season finale).
