News & notes

We're still waiting on the result, if any, of Wednesday's Emma Willard-Troy basketball game. An e-mail to Troy AD Paul Reinisch went unanswered Thursday, which suggests that the game might have been cancelled at the last minute.

Meantime, the Jesters dropped a 65-51 decision to Mechanicville in Wasaren League play on Thursday.

Update, 7:34 pm: Emma Willard defeated Troy, 56-51, on Wednesday.

It was Kids' Day at Siena College Thursday vs. Niagara. As radio announcer Joe Mixie noted, most of the kids were leaving at the start of the 4th quarter due to time limitations, so they missed an exciting finish.

Ahniysha Jackson (Albany) had 17 points as one of 4 Saints in double figures, as Siena won, 66-64.

There are no swimming results in today's paper due to space restrictions, but this much we know. Guilderville, after having their meet pushed back two days due to weather, defeated Troy/CBA/Columbia, 96-80. The Flying Devil Brothers will be back in the pool on Tuesday.
