 This week's edition of Friday Night Matchup on Spectrum News 1 airs tonight, as CBA hosts Niskayuna. Kickoff is shortly after 7 pm. In all, there are six games on tonight's schedule, four on Saturday, and everyone else plays tomorrow.

Bethlehem grad Matt Quatraro and the Kansas City Royals are on the verge of elimination in the American League Division Series after dropping game 3, 3-2, to the Yankees Wednesday night. The Yanks can close out the Royals tonight on TBS. Tommy Kahnle (Shaker) picked up the win in relief for the Yankees, pitching 1 1/3 innings of shutout ball, striking out 1.

Meanwhile, after blossoming into an elite reliever himself this season, Jeff Hoffman (Shaker) was charged with the loss as the Mets eliminated the Philadelphia Phillies with a 4-1 win Wednesday at raucous Citi Field. Hoffman's post-season ERA was a putrid 40.50 after giving up 3 of the 4 Met runs in the 6th inning. In fact, Hoffman ended up getting tagged with 2 of the losses as well as a win in Game 2 on Sunday.
