After sitting out Corpus Christi's beatdown at the hands of the Albany Firebirds on Sunday, ex-'Birds Dwayne Hollis & Darius Prince were released by the Tritons, and have signed with the Billings Outlaws, who've already lost twice to the 'Birds this season. Seems to me both sides have the postseason in mind, and a championship rematch......!

Albany Academy's Ras Elijah Godbolt has committed to Fairleigh Dickinson, per the Albany Times-Union, rather than play his college ball in the 518.
Godbolt led the Cadets to the NYS Association of Independent Schools title in Class AA in March.

Thursday's college scores:
Baseball:
Utica 16, Cobleskill 14.
The Tri-City Valleycats held their annual preseason game vs. Hudson Valley Community College, with whom they share Bruno Stadium. Unfortunately, given how little respect the Vikings have been shown in the press, the score was not published. An online headline confirms the 'Cats won. Tri-City's home opener is one week from tonight.
Softball:
Siena swept St. Peter's, 7-1 & 11-0, with the 2nd game called after 5 innings due to the mercy rule.

Troy High softball still can't beat anyone outside the Colonial Council.
Burnt Hills got the better of the Lady Horses on Thursday, 7-3, to run their record to 8-2 overall, while Troy falls to 7-4 (7-0 Colonial Council). Troy's softball & baseball tteams visit Albany Academy today (weather permitting), while the tennis team hosts Schoharie in a non-league match, flag football travels to Bethlehem, and lacrosse hits the road to play Stillwater-Mechanicville.
