We are in the homestretch for men's tennis, while there are 2-3 weeks left for the rest of spring sports.
Softball:
Current record: 8-4 (8-0 Colonial Council).
Sean Geisel's club went 3-1 this week, the lone loss a non-league loss to Burnt Hills on Thursday. Otherwise, Troy remains undefeated in league play after disposing of Mohonasen, Ichabod Crane, & Albany Academy, the latter via mercy rule.
Next:
It's back to non-league play (weather permitting) on Monday at Saratoga. Then, the Lady Horses return home to play Voorheesville before hitting the road for rematches at Cohoes and Lansingburgh. Looks like Troy will win their first division title by the end of the week. Again, weather permitting, since the forecast calls for rain through Wednesday as of right now.
Lacrosse:
Current record: 1-8.
The laxmen went 0-2 this week, losing to Greenwich-Cambridge & Stillwater-Mechanicville, but there may be an end in sight to the losing street.
Next: Troy hosts Lansingburgh, looking for a season sweep, on Friday.
Baseball:
Current record:
Current record: 7-5.
Trevor McCarthy's crew went 2-2 last week, needing extra innings to beat Mohonasen, then taking down Guilderland, but have lost two in a row, falling to Ichabod Crane and Albany Academy.
Next:
Troy is scheduled to host Voorheesville on Tuesday (weather permitting) and Columbia on Wednesday before hitting the road to play Cohoes on Thursday and Ballston Spa on Saturday.
Flag football:
Current record: 5-3.
Update, 5/5, 12:23 pm: Troy swept both weekend games, beating Bethlehem on Friday and Schenectady on Saturday after losing to Holy Trinity last Monday.
Next: Frank Rogers' squad hosts Burnt Hills on Monday, Ballston Spa on Wednesday, and Beekmantown on Saturday. Plus, they'll travel to Albany Leadership on Friday.
Tennis:
Current record: 3-3, pending the result of Friday's Senior Day match vs. Schoharie.
Troy was swept by Albany Academy, but came back and beat Ravena. The Schoharie meet has not been reported as of press time.
Next: The season ends at Schalmont on Monday. Sectional seedings will be announced on Thursday.
