Talia Valenti's group is off to a fast start after beating Amsterdam (Foothills Council) & the Academy of Holy Names on back-to-back nights, losing just one set in the process.
Next: The Lady Horses hit the road, as they'll be at Schalmont on Tuesday, and Lansingburgh for the Knights' annual tournament on Saturday.
Women's soccer:
Current record: 1-1-1 (1-1 Colonial Council).
Year 2 for Jarret Farrell got off to a rocky start, getting drubbed by Schalmont, 11-0, before taking an overtime win over Holy Names. A non-league match vs. ancient rival Albany ended in a 2-2 draw.
Next: The Lady Horses are on the road this week, at Ravena Tuesday night, and Hoosic Valley (Wasaren League) on Friday.

This past week's matches vs. Voorheesville & Emma Willard have not been reported.
Next: It's a busy week for coach Trevor McCarthy. Troy hosts Albany Academy on Monday, then travels to Coxsackie-Athens (Patroon Conference) on Tuesday. After that, it's back home for Holy Names on Wednesday and Ravena on Thursday.

Current record: 0-1.
Jordan Canzeri's Flying Horses will be happy to be home this week after dropping the season opener to Horseheads on Friday, held to just 8 points. Troy hosts Mohonasen on Friday night.
