It was almost six months ago that LaSalle coach John Audino last stood across the field from Bob Burns. At the time, Burns was at Troy High, and retained the Collar City Cup in a win over LaSalle.
Since then, Burns won the Class A title, and left to coach Christian Brothers Academy, which has a rivalry game of its own against the Cadets, the Battle For The Sabre. It is the resumption of that series that kicks off Week 0, an optional opening week for high schools in Section II.
To make a long story short, Audino hasn't yet figured out how to beat Burns' suffocating defense. He's now 0-4 against Burns' teams, as CBA opens with a 20-0 shutout.

LaSalle stays on the road next week, playing a Class AA school for the 2nd straight week, as they'll visit Schenectady. We'll be at Picken Field for the start of the John Barber era at Troy High.
