24 hours after their basketball team ended a 4 game losing streak, LaSalle's hockey team ended a 19 game drought, dating back to 2021, in beating Queensbury, 4-1, on Wednesday night. 8th grader Chase Rose scored two goals and added an assist. Rose has 6 goals in this, his rookie season.

The Cadets continue their road trip at CBA on Saturday.

It was another night of feast or famine for UAlbany's basketball teams on Wednesday.

Back at SEFCU Arena, the men fell to UMBC, 59-53. Jarvis Boles & Jared Horton led the Great Danes with 17 points each. The Danes will be in Hartford on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the women completed a season sweep of the Retrievers, 51-41. Kayla Cooper led UAlbany with 10 points. Unfortunately, no box score was available as of press time.

With Stony Brook leaving for the Colonial Athletic Conference, the America East Conference has decided the Seawolves are ineligible for the league tournament, or any league post-season events in any sport for that matter. Sounds petty, I know, but it is in the league by-laws. What this means to UAlbany, of course, is that the in-state rivals will play each other less frequently, but continuing the annual series would still be an option as part of a non-conference schedule.
